National Pool Safety Standard Adoption

If you haven't heard already, the swimming pool industry in Florida is working to increase safety in our swimming pools and spas. The Florida Swimming Pool Association has issued several news releases pertaining to the Florida Building Code requirements that will go into effect December 31, 2008. They will require that all residential pools follow the ANSI/APSI-7 Standard: American National Standard for Suction Entrapment Avoidance in Swimming Pools, Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs and Catch Basins. In their release, they have stated that 'the performance requirements and construction practices in this standard are based upon sound engineering principles, research and field experience that, when applied properly, provide for a safe installation that is consistent with the requirement of the federal Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act.'

To read the Florida Swimming Pool Association Press Releases in their entirety please visit: http://www.floridapoolpro.com/about/pressreleases.asp. We encourage you to read all of these Press Releases as they pertain to both Residential and Commercial pools. It's important that you understand what these requirements are and to ensure that your pools/spas are safe.

Reminder

Please remember that our Office will be CLOSED on Thursday, December 25th for the Holiday. If your normal scheduled service falls on Thursday, we will be servicing your pool/spa either two business days before or after this date.

Happy Holidays!

Holidays can be a time of stress for everyone, especially those who are unable to meet their needs. As Eddie's Virtual Assistant I perform various administrative functions for Eddie's Pool Service, Inc. from my home office, one of which is to maintain this Blog.

This week we have decided to share the November 21st Press Release article from the Virtual Assistant Chamber of Commerce (VACOC) with you which provides information on Food Bank Shelves and Donating for those in need. As a member of the VACOC and my efforts to bring awareness to this need I have recommended the Angel Food Ministries in our Press Release. For every Angel Food Box distributed, Angel Food Ministries will donate $1.00 to every host site's benevolence fund to assist in that specific Community. Please visit http://www.angelfoodministries.com/ for more information regarding Angel Food Ministries and how you may be able to help those in need within your Community.

To read the complete VACOC Press Release on how you can contribute or make a donation, please visit http://www.virtualassistantnetworking.com/releases/2008/112108.htm.

You may also visit the VACOC Home Page at http://www.virtualassistantnetworking.com/ to view all of the VACOC In The News Articles to see how we, our Virtual Assistant Community assist not only those in need but also to learn more about the Virtual Assistant Chamber of Commerce and what a Virtual Assistant is. We have many Virtual Assistant's throughout the United States and may be able to assist you or your company at some point.

There are many ways to donate and help those in need, whether it's financially, clothing or your time; no amount is too small, especially during the Holidays. Just $1.00, one pair of shoes or one hour can make all the difference to one family or one child in need.

Warm regards, Dinah and Eddie
